These are all things I’ve heard from people during consult calls for my branding services. I think tact sometimes goes out the window when it comes to talking about money, but I get it. My services are expensive. Not as expensive as some, but more expense than others. And I’m not planning to lower them anytime soon because I know exactly what goes into those services. Creating a strategic, intentional brand from scratch is one of the hardest parts of building your marketing toolkit. I swear I didn’t do this as an April Fools joke, you guys! I sat down the other night to create the wallpaper and my brain just didn’t want to do anything that wasn’t silly. Hello fellow humans! We’ve made it one month into 2021 and at the very least can say that we’re still here, right? Traditionally February is the month of romance + love, but if I’m being totally honest, I’ve never liked Valentine’s Day. So pretty hearts and flowers were never in the cards. Instead I went the polar opposite direction and took out all my frustrations to make this stabby rainbow beaut’ to express my love for y’all. What does this say about me? Who the heck knows?! But I’m going with a ‘murder what’s not serving you’ theme for the month and I invite you to join.

Here we are in 2021!! Even though I obviously know that there isn’t much difference between yesterday and today, it still somehow feels like a clean slate full of possibilities. Without the baggage of 2020. The time between the holidays and the New Year are always full of weird feelings for me, and this year was exceptionally wonky in my world. So I’m looking forward to getting back to routine and waltzing into the year with hope + cautious optimism that it’ll be better and that I can be better.

It’s that time of year. No, not the most wonderful time of the year. The time of year when my schedule starts slowing down and I start reflecting because we’re going into the new year.

Hello and hold onto your butts! We’re in the homestretch of 2020 and holiday anticipation is in full force. I always love coming up with new themed ideas for the free wallpaper patterns and the December one can be especially challenging when I don’t wanna go for a full Christmas idea. But with this green + blush + cherry color palette, I have to say I’m feeling pretty jolly.

I woke up this morning and realized it was the first of a new month and I hadn’t even thought about creating the wallpaper design. This is the first time that’s happened in the last almost 8 years and it feels both liberating and terrifying to know that no one is here to hold me accountable but myself. And then when I sat down to work on it, my computer decided to refuse to work and I spent 3 hours with Apple support trying to figure it out. Because the universe thinks it’s funny to mess with us.

Hello! It’s almost fall and we’re still here! I call that a win in my book. July and August have been real wild for me, so I’m looking forward to slowing down hopefully a bit as the weather cools down and as I book out the rest of the year (I’m booking for November already…what?!!). Hello fellow humans! I’m happy to announce that I’ve made it through July hanging on by a thread. It’s been a crazy month filled with 90+ degree days, lots of toddler chasing, and trying to keep on top of client work while maintaining some semblance of sanity. Hello and happy July! I hope everyone’s been hanging in there through this summer. It looks much different than I’m sure we all imagined. For me it’s been all about backyard playtime, warm evening walks, and dinners on patios. (The patio is our own and we’re making the best use out of it since we moved in 7 years ago.) The summer is already flying by. Probably because living through what feels like a never-ending pandemic makes time move in strange ways!
